It takes one mislabeled product to get your licence revoked. And one Food Safety Supervisor could not possibly have the bandwidth to keep up. Get your whole team trained — 20 sets of eyes are better than one.
Food safety officers are raiding restaurants across India, and big names are getting caught.
In Maharashtra alone, officials have carried out more than 3,000 raids since May 2026. Four Domino's outlets and one Pizza Hut outlet had their permits suspended. Across Maharashtra and Karnataka, 165 licences have been cancelled and 764 improvement notices issued. In Indore, Social's licence was suspended on August 31.
And it is all public. Officials are sharing photos and videos of the raids. One viral clip can hurt a restaurant more than any fine.

Every one of these began as a detail nobody checked — which is why the fix is a trained floor, not a trained individual.
The problems found include pests, rotting food, poor cleaning and missing expiry dates.
These are not big failures. They are small things that slipped through. A label nobody checked. A container nobody dated. A corner nobody cleaned.
No single manager can catch it all. Compliance only works when everyone plays their part.
The FoSTaC rule says you need one trained Food Safety Supervisor for every 25 staff. That is the minimum.
But one person only has two eyes. They cannot be at every station on a busy Saturday night when raw chicken gets stored above the salad.
A licence is issued against the paperwork. A raid is conducted against the kitchen.
Train 10 people, and you have 20 eyes on every label, every shelf and every surface.
Every staff member — from the kitchen team to the receiving bay — should be able to:
Loaded with the Advanced Catering manual. Staff learn on their phones, at their own pace, in short, easy lessons. alaclass.app.
Conducted by a licensed trainer, at your venue. Practical and hands-on, and it includes assessment and certification. See FSSAI and FoSTaC training.
Under FoSTaC, a food business needs one trained and certified Food Safety Supervisor for every 25 food handlers on the premises. That figure is a licensing minimum, not a target. It is the number that keeps your paperwork in order, not the number that keeps your kitchen safe on a busy night.
Because one person has two eyes. A supervisor cannot stand at the receiving bay, the cold room, the prep counter and the pass at the same time, and it is the unwatched station that produces the violation — raw chicken stored above the salad, a container nobody dated. Train ten people and twenty eyes are on every label, every shelf and every surface.
Pests, rotting food, poor cleaning and missing expiry dates. None of those are dramatic failures. They are small things that slipped through — a label nobody checked, a corner nobody cleaned — and they are exactly the things a trained team catches before an officer does.
The whole team can be trained. The certification requirement applies to the supervisor, but the knowledge is what protects the licence, and nothing stops you putting every food handler through the same material. That is the point of training the floor rather than one person standing on it.
Two ways. The À La Class app carries the Advanced Catering manual in short lessons your staff work through on their own phones, between shifts. Or an HTI licensed trainer runs an in-person FoSTaC session at your venue, hands-on, with assessment and certification included.
Do not wait for the raiding party to identify non-compliance and damage your reputation. Fix the gaps and protect your brand before anyone comes looking.
Get every person on your premises trained — not just one.
